Sadist Prof

Grrr… I can\’t imagine that other classes do not have any kind of project while our class has a dump of research work and a demanding project??? Life isn\’t fair… really, thanks to my sadist professor.

PROSE Open Beta Moved Again

As posted by GM-Phage in the pROSE boards:

Prose Open Beta Moved To June 30, Client Upgraded.

In order to implement new game changes to pROSE Online, we are moving our Open Beta test to June 30, 2005.

Gravity has provided us a new client which we are currently testing to ensure a smooth shift to open beta.

However, in line with this, all of the pre-distributed demo beta CDs are no longer valid. We are now producing a new batch of CDs for distribution.

We apologize for this inconvenience. Soon, we shall be announcing additional outlets where you can get a copy of the new pROSE CD installers.

Again, we\’re sorry for this inconvenience. Thank you for your tremendous support for pROSE Online.

So there you have it… :P by that time I\’m already enrolled in 1st quarter, S.Y. 2005 – 2006 (my last year in college) so I doubt I can pursue playing pRose that much. Well, I guess my little brother will. Hehe.

Rizal Stuffs

I am about to write my reaction paper about Rizal sa Dapitan.

We are supposed to write a summary about the film and write our reaction about it. Using my reference book Jose Rizal written by Zaide, I think we should be able to compare if the movie really holds truthful information about Rizal\’s stay in Dapitan or it was just filmed as a mere fiction or imagination of the director.

I will find out soon. :)

Database Systems

We are using the 3rd edition of this book as reference to our project in our database systems, and all I can say is that this book has very excellent examples. For instance the normalization topics in this book is one of the best written explanation about normalization that I have found… I use the 4th edition powerpoint slides as reference, and it helps a lot because I only borrow book from the library. (I don\’t want to invest in this book because I rather spend my money for PHP and MySQL books)

Argh.. talking about our project in Database I\’ll be doing a lot of ER diagrams and relational diagrams in Visio 2003… :( waah.. another sleepless night for me, not to mention we have quiz tomorrow about implementation of rules and views in MS SQL 2000. Geezzz…. let\’s burn the midnight oil once again… x_x

I want to thanks Sarah for giving me a sample database thesis. She used is to be my senior in college and now she has a job somewhere in RCBC Plaza as a COBOL programmer. The thesis she gave me was actually monitored and checked by our professor so I already have a preview of her of standards, taste or preference in documentations. :)

3 Days and 2 Nights Workshop

From my past blog entries, I don\’t remember mentioning that I have a scholarship with Procter & Gamble Philippines. Anyway… now you know. :)

My first year experience in 2003 about this annual summer outing and learning event was memorable and highly educational. It was held in Fontana. It\’s about 7 Habits of Highly Effective People; however, it\’s not the highlights of my stay there. I rather not discuss it here because I am not proud of the outcome. That\’s why I promised to myself not to be intoxicated again. I missed last year\’s (2004) seminar because of my schedule (I was enrolled in a community welfare service). Now, on my third year I\’m more anxious on what\’s going to happen there. >_<

Anyway, this year\’s theme is \”Personal Effectiveness and Personal Leadership: Key Ingredients to make College Life Worthwhile!\” It will be held on April 1 – 3, 2005 at Manila Peninsula Hotel. This is a resident-type training so we stayed in the hotel during the entire event.

Here\’s the overview of the planned events:

On April 1, (Friday) we should be at Garcia Villa / Balagtas for registration, and then there will be an opening remarks / introduction / agenda review. After that, we will eat lunch! :D Then, we will check-in to our respective rooms. There will be a roll call about house rules after. Then Team-building will proceed after. Group dinner will be served and a group work will follow. :D (Hmmm… how come there\’s no \”sleep time\” in the plan??)

On April 2, (Saturday) we are expected to be up by 7:00… Then finish breakfast by 8:00am. Personal Leadership and Career Preparation training will commence by 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. There will be lunch break though :) From 5:00am to 7:00 pm we are free to do whatever we want (I\’ll probably roam the rest of the hotel for pictures and stuffs!) and group dinner will be served.

On April 3, (Sunday) same routine in the morning but the training will finish by 12 noon. We will have a lunch break then we will check-out. After that, there\’s a so-called \”Personal Commitment Session\” which I\’m really clueless about. Then we are expected to wrap-up by 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. By 6:00 pm I\’ll be home to continue whatever I left hanging in mid-air. :D
