I am not sure if anyone else encountered this problem with Globe SuperDuo or Duo landline service. The landline number should be retained if you renew the registration in 30 days; however, my number got replaced even if I renewed my SuperDuo registration within 24 hours!
It usually takes me less than 5 minutes to do the re-registration with a prepaid sim but it wasn’t the case last night. I had difficulty renewing my SuperDuo service.
After sending SUPERDUO MM 599 to 8888, I received the usual text message that I have to reply with ‘YES’ to 8888 to complete registration. I promptly replied ‘YES’ to 8888 but the system rejected my registration:“Sorry, we cannot process your GLOBE SUPERDUO request at this time. Please try again later.”
That is exactly what I did.
I sent another re-registration to 8888 but I received the ‘error’ yet again.
I failed at least 3 times so I thought I should wait for a few hours to try the registration out once more.
After a few hours, I sent the re-registration — I replied ‘YES’ to the text prompt — alas! I got my SuperDuo service re-activated… but I got a NEW number!
My old number got replaced.
I am not mad. I am just sad and disappointed because I am using this service faithfully for the last 6 months and it screwed up! I like my old number back so I hope @Talk2Globe would response to my tweets immediately. I really hope I can get my old number back.

I have been using this sleek 15-inch laptop for a couple of months now and I am very happy with its overall performance. It runs on an Intel i3 processor and it can play decent games like StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty thanks to its dedicated mobile graphics card. The generous amount of 4GB memory is also an added advantage for multi-tasking.
It’s not defective; in fact it is still very smooth and it looks new.
So why I am bidding goodbye to this ideal laptop?
It will be sold soon. (sob)
Maturity played a lot in my decision to sell this lovely laptop because more important things await for the coming weeks and I have no emergency fund. Life could be a surprise to most of us, isn’t it?
The reason I’m quite touchy about this laptop is because I named it after a girl’s name. I usually name my gadgets generic-sounding names. This laptop is actually the first gadget I ever named after a girl. And now, I am selling it!
You could now imagine how pathetic I am…
Of course I’m kidding. Sure, there is a very important milestone in my life soon and I need a ready cash for that but I really intended to sell this i3 laptop because I want to buy a new desktop. I still have a decent Core 2 Duo laptop and an older Core Duo laptop which are more difficult to sell so I sold this one instead. It was fun owning this laptop but first things first. I need to dispose it.
I couldn’t think of a better way to end this so I’m leaving you with a sad photo…

It’s nearly august and I will celebrate my 6th year of blogging. I can’t remember for what particular purpose I was blogging but looking at how immature and simplistic my first post was, it’s now obvious why I have not gone far from where I started.
It’s been a long time since I actually posted good content here. I lost focus a lot of times for a number of different reasons. A lot of them has to do with my life offline. But who cares about those stuffs. What’s important is that I am moving on and I continue learning from what life has to offer.
I am turning 25 this year and there are many challenges ahead of me. No, this is not about quarter life crisis. I have already found my purpose and it’s only a matter of time for me to fulfill and for you to find out.
This blog had already gone through the test of time and it is still standing after big storms. It has gone through several face-lift but I was not heavily promoting it. It’s clearly my fault. I used to have PR 4… then it dropped to PR 3. Now I’m back at PR 2. This is not the time to quit blogging. I certainly have more plans and it starts NOW.
To celebrate my 6th year of blogging, I will implement changes in my blog. It’s good that WordPress 3.0 has built-in multisite support now because WordPress MU is quite a hard nut to crack specially with plug-ins. I hope I can exploit it as much as I can to cover different areas that interest me.
For a long time I have been doing internet marketing but I have not discussed anything about it in my blog. You’ll see more of it in my posts. Let’s talk about making money — the risk and reward of getting into online business. Before, I’m was very tight-lipped about it because I was a newbie. However, I have already gained experience and I would like to share what I can for beginners. No one started as a guru or an expert. I hope I can impart knowledge in areas like SEO, usability, design and other related topics.

A quick plug: I’m building a new website here at challenge.ph. It’s a joint effort with some of my fellow bloggers. It’s heavily inspired by Ed Dale’s 30 Day Challenge, now simply called “The Challenge”.

Delicious bookmark, originally del.icio.us, has been around for years already. It revolutionized the way we share content in the internet, especially on how we use bookmarks. Social bookmarking suddenly became a hot trend and many alternatives popped up.
Competition is good. It should drive innovation and give more freedom for users but nothing really beats the original, most of the times.
For those people who are stuck in Delicious bookmarks, many wishes that we get an option to filter what we share publicly. For instance, I like to opt out some tags as public because I want to keep some bookmarks private. I was thankful when Delicious introduced private bookmarks on March 2006 but until today, the functionality is still lacking more controls or options.
Fortunately there are two ways that I know to make all new bookmarks in Delicious marked as private by default.
Note: this is only tested in Firefox 3.5 using the official Delicious add-on.
- Use userscript. You must have Greasemonkey, then install this nifty Private delicious.com check script.
When I tested this, it only works with bookmarklets but it does not work with the official Delicious add-on.If you are using the official Delicious add-on, then I suggest you use the next option.
- Configure
about:config
- Go to
about:config, right click somewhere then add a new integer

- Then, type
extensions.ybookmarks@yahoo.sharemode and enter 1.
After adding that, you should see something like this:

So now that you can bookmark privately by default, you only explicitly choose which bookmarks to share.

At first I was hesitant if I would be able to capture an expiring domain name because it is a highly competitive market. I have been using back orders to secure several expiring domain names before but I have failed numerous times already. However, after doing some research I was able to capture my first dropped domain name. It was a fantastic experience and I love doing it again when the opportunity comes.
Snatching an expiring domain name is not easy. There are domain squatters, professional domainers, internet marketers and branding agencies looking for high valuable domain names. In my research I found the story of Mike Davidson in Mike Industries very helpful in gauging the competition surrounding this market. You have to be smart, fast in making decision and more importantly, tactical. If you don’t have any plans in mind and you rely only in one single resource, you are placing all your eggs in one basket. Not good.
I was in a tight budget when I got my first expired domains and I thought that you don’t have to spend so much just to buy a good expiring domain name. You just have to make use of the best tools around to monitor competition. That way, you won’t overbid and you won’t be stressed needlessly.
I’ll write a new post once I am able to complete my next dropped domain name registration. Since I am doing this part-time, it might take some time. Feel free to look around and give me your feedbacks.

Project 52
I recently joined Project 52, a personal challenge geared towards getting fresh content on website owners.
I accidentally discovered it on new year’s eve of 2010 when I was browsing some articles in Mashable for year-end reviews. After reading news, I became curious about the article authors so I started looking up their Twitter profiles. Apparently, I landed at Christina Warren’s blog and this particular post caught my attention. That post was about Project 52 and her opening sentence was “I don’t like neglecting my blog. That’s why I’m joining Project 52!” For a moment I thought, that sounds just like me!
I immediately read the challenge. All we need to do is commit to the challenge and write at least once a week for the next 52 weeks starting January 1st, 2010 to January 1st, 2011.
I grinned when I found out how dead simple the challenge is, but that grin faded when I realized anything can happen for the next 365 days, just like what happened when I put my blog in hiatus several times already. Nevertheless, I committed to the challenge and I am up for it. This is is my pledge to write more content — more sensible and valuable posts and not just random babbling.
Project 52 was made possible by Anton Peck and you can find the original proposal here.
At the moment, the website of P52 is just a plain and simple webpage because it is only serving as a placeholder but there will be more developments for the coming weeks.
Look forward for more updates here in my blog as I participate in Project 52.
